Illuminate San Francisco

In November of 2023, in celebration of APEC – while the eyes of the world were on San Francisco – Illuminate beamed a dozen lasers up Market Street on four consecutive nights, from sunset to sunrise.

Despite a last-minute funding cut by APEC officials due to increased security costs, we knew the moment was too important for San Francisco to let pass, so we decided to proceed anyway and self-funded the lasers over Market Street.

Risky? Yes. Also amazing.

The results were dramatic. The city was alive and shining from the San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean and the images were shared around the world.
