Illuminate Partners with Bayview Opera House & India Basin Waterfront Park

Join the India Basin Waterfront Park project partners, Illuminate and the Bayview Opera House for the Sounds of the Street music series at India Basin Waterfront Park beginning Saturday, September 30.

The series will bring music to the park on select Saturdays from September to November, featuring musicians and artists representing a variety of genres, including from the Bayview-Hunter’s Point community. Come out for Saturdays on the shoreline this fall for music, fun, and community!

This program is an initiative of the project’s Equitable Development Plan, following the strategies to use the physical spaces and park programming to build community cohesion and social capital and to ensure that park programming is equitable and responsive to community needs and desires. September 30: Jazz, Blues, & Soul concert with Stephanie Woodford & Lady Bianca
October 7: Scratch DJ & Urban Dance workshop with DJ Shortkut & Feline Finesse Dance Company
October 21: Spoken Word showcase & workshop with San Francisco Poet Laureate Tongo Eisen-Martin & local poets
November 4: R&B, Soul, & Swing Concert with Dr. David Hardiman & his 12 piece big band
November 11: Singer/Songwriter showcase featuring Austin Dean Ashford, Bomani X, & Bisi O.
November 18: Special Final Concert and workshop with the Curtis Family C-Notes
