The best news possible for The Bay Lights

This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. We are delighted to announce that–with generous private support from our expanded community–Illuminate the Arts has reached our $4m baseline goal to make The Bay Lights a permanent installation.

Working together–and inspired by a $2m matching grant from philanthropist Tad Taube–we accomplished the impossible, yet again. Leo Villareal’s masterwork of public art will lift the gaze and spirits of Bay Area residents and visitors for generations to come.

Stay tuned for more details. For the moment, however, please celebrate this brilliant news with friends and family and accept our profound gratitude for being part of a community that has redefined the expectations of public art.

We look forward to celebrating with you as we build upon this accomplishment and develop the next visionary projects.
