Rainbow Laser Installation Marks Pride Weekend Celebrations in San Francisco

A rainbow art installation kicked off pride weekend celebrations across San Francisco, California, on Friday, June 23, projecting the “world’s largest pride flag” according to event organizers.

Drone footage by local photographer Shreenivasan Manievannan shows people enjoying the festivities as the colorful lasers beam from the Ferry Building down Market Street.

The display was organized by art nonprofit group, Illuminate, and titled Welcome. It included DJs, dancing, circus performers and special guests, including former house speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Pelosi said she wanted to attend the celebrations to pay her respects and help turn on the lights. Credit: Shreenivasan Manievannan via Storyful
