The Bay Lights Return: Here’s How To Watch
As the return of The Bay Lights approaches, here are a few ways to make the most of the moment.
The Bay Lights will return to the bridge at approximately 7:40 PM PT on Friday, March 20.
In the lead-up, starting at about 7:15 PM PT, Illuminate’s Founder Ben Davis, Artist Leo Villareal, and invited VIP guests will share brief remarks outside Waterbar along the Embarcadero, culminating in a collective countdown to the relighting. The gathering is open to the public.
If you’re unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be streamed live on Instagram (@illuminatethearts).
The evening continues along the Embarcadero with Lite Up the Nite, a free, all-ages event presented by Big Art Loop and Coven. From Pier 14 to Brannan Street Wharf, the waterfront will come alive with live music, light-based installations, and illuminated attire.
Many waterfront restaurants will be offering special menus for the occasion, take a stroll and find your vantage point.
For a more relaxed close to the evening, head to Cupid’s Span to take in the newly relit bridge. Bring a blanket, something warm to drink, and settle in alongside others gathered to welcome the return of The Bay Lights.
