🌈 Mark your calendars: #WelcomeSF is back for Pride 2025!

From June 27–29, sunset to sunrise, Illuminate will transform Market Street into the world’s largest Pride flag, made from laser space cannons.

We’re kicking off the weekend on Friday, June 27 with a powerful celebration on Embarcadero Plaza, at the base of R-Evolution, SF’s newest (and largest) public art piece. Expect drag, music, San Francisco Dykes on Bikes®, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, and a whole lot of joy as we celebrate this beautiful symbol of inclusion, love, and resistance. Pride weekend arrives at a time of deep discomfort in our country. Human rights are being trampled, and the LGBTQIA+ community is under attack.

But in San Francisco we don’t cower, we don’t shrink. Never have. San Francisco doesn’t just celebrate the Pride flag, it was created here. Same-sex marriage? It started here. So in this moment – a true moment of crisis – we aren’t being quiet. We are going bright!  We answer not with outrage, but with awe—because awe opens hearts and awe invites belonging. San Francisco still has the power to inspire the world—not just through protest or policy, but through beauty. Through public love. Through visible courage. And now, through powerful lasers across the city. 

And in an extraordinary partnership, R-Evolution, artist Marco Cochrane’s 45-foot steel structure of a woman at the foot of Market Street will be bathed in Pride colors as part of the weekend-long installation.

✨Laser start times will vary nightly, but they will begin as darkness falls.
